NewZeal Party Reaffirms Long-Term Commitment to Values-Based Politics and National Renewal

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WELLINGTON, NZ — The NewZeal political party today reaffirmed its commitment to building a future-focused political movement rooted in faith, family, and freedom, urging supporters and the wider public to join in the long game of nation-shaping leadership.

Founded by Hon. Alfred Ngaro, NewZeal stood in the 2023 General Election championing policies that prioritise thriving families, economic prosperity, educational innovation, and freedom of expression. While the party did not gain parliamentary representation, receiving 16,179 party votes, it emerged with a deeply committed base and a renewed sense of vision.

“NewZeal is more than a political party—it’s a movement,” said Ngaro. “We’re not here just to win seats; we’re here to build a legacy that will serve future generations.”

Over the past 18 months, Ngaro has engaged in significant international and domestic dialogue, meeting with global and regional leaders including heads of state from Israel, Vanuatu, and Ethiopia, as well as Pacific leaders in Tonga and Fiji. He also addressed Indigenous leaders in North America and was uniquely honoured to speak at the funeral of Dame Tariana Turia—one of New Zealand’s most respected political elders—where others were not permitted to speak.

“These moments reaffirm the role NewZeal is meant to play,” said Ngaro. “We are called to be a moral and visionary voice at home and abroad.”

In addition to political and cultural diplomacy, NewZeal has been strengthened its ties with public servants, local government officials, and civil society leaders who continue to champion conservative values in the background of the nation’s institutions.

The party stated its belief that the current parliamentary landscape highlights the need for a stronger, values-based voice: “We see fragmentation, confusion, and political compromise at a time when New Zealand needs moral clarity and principled leadership.”

NewZeal is now focusing on the future with strategic efforts to train candidates, develop policy platforms, and mobilise communities across the nation. Supporters are being called to renew their membership, connect locally, and contribute to the party’s long-term vision.

“We’re in this for the long game,” said Ngaro. “It’s time to look beyond the next election cycle and build something that lasts—a movement grounded in truth, guided by faith, and driven by service.”
